The first lady and minister of education and sports Janet Kataha Museveni has commended all stakeholders in the education sector for supporting her ministry’s efforts in ensuring that her teams carry out a credible examination for the country.

She made the remarks at state house Nakasero last week where she urged the over 60,000 former P7 candidates that failed to pass to repeat and make it next year.

Kampala Parents School [KPS] during our visit had performed well after most of the candidates got incredibly good marks making her top among the best in the country.

The best cream stars included Fantasia Nowembabazi With 4, Jjuuko Adonia [5], Abigaba Calvin [5] Ainemugisha Sheenah Chebet [5],  Ahabwe Eamon [5]  among others.

Tugume Lillian the mother to Ahabwe Eamon thanked God for the gift of their son who has done them good  andurged his to get focused and look ahead  in his education journey into the future.

The school Principal Daphane Kato said they had a total of 215 candidates and majority passed with flying colors however she thanked the school board led by Dr. Sudhir Ruparelia for the technical and logistical support extended to them subsequently enabled them to excel. 

‘We sincerely thank our bosses Dr.Sudhir Ruparelia, Rajiv,Sheena among others for the funding support which we rallied on to achieve this goal of success’ noted Kato.

According to UNEB, a total of 798,771 candidates registered for the 2024 examination, compared to 749, 254 in 2023. This represents a percentage increase of 6.6%.
