ISBAT flags off team to the AUUS 2025 Inter-University Games.

The 20th Association of Uganda University Sports (AUUS) Games 2025 will officially kickoff in Friday 19th November 2025 with draws released having five sports disciplines considered for both the men’s and women’s categories. 

Athletes from at least 24 universities are expected to be available official Opening .

ISBAT University has flagged off their team to participate in the games in Mukono which the statement from the university university referred to as the National Inter University Olympics in Uganda.

“Our team of student athletes is set to depart for the AUUS National Inter-University Games, widely regarded as the national Olympics for universities in Uganda” the statements reads in part.

According to ISBAT the team will join the Main Campus contingent to Uganda Christian University (UCU) Mukono campus together, where they will compete in various sports such as football, basketball, volleyball, chess, tennis, karate, and wood ball, among others, from December 18 to 23, 2025 to participate in 3 sports games.

“We will be represented by a delegation of 23 student athletes competing in three sports disciplines: Lawn Tennis: 1 athlete, Swimming: 1 athlete, Football: 21 athletes” it reads.

Mr. Michael Kakande one of the organizers expressed readiness host the 2025 games. He said that “Volley ball, hand ball, basket ball, tennis and other courts as well as campus venues are ready. While outside pitches are at 90% complete. We are very ready to host the games” he said

ISBAT. Will be competing with different universities including KIU, UCU, Kampala University, Ndejje among others.

In 2023, Ndejje University finished 1st winning Gold, followed by Uganda Christian University (Silver), and Makerere University (Bronze).
