Hoima RCC Mugabi, Deputies and Health Officials convene to discuss health situation in the city

The  Resident City Commission (RCC) Hoima City Mugabi Badru together with his deputies Kasigazi William DRCC Hoima East and Muhoozi  Michael DRCC Hoima West in conjunction with Deputy RDC Hoima district Kyakasali Michael  convened  with the COVID-19 task force meeting to track the progress of the exercise and other risk health issues in Hoima. 
During the meeting the RCC applauded  the task force for their effort in combating cases, while promising  them support as and when required to ensure that the population is safe and healthy.
"COVID-19 vaccinantion is continously going on. Hoima City  and hoima district  have been working together to combat COVID-19" he said
He revealed that he has received information about the outbreak of Ebola in the neighboring country Demecratic Republic of Congo.
Dr Lawrence Tumusiime, the Hoima District Health Officer -DHO said that government is organizing to vaccinate polio among children.

He recently told The Independent that the district has registered progress in the vaccination with the number of people taking the COVID-19 jab increasing.He says that those that have been vaccinated include teachers, Journalists, medical workers from various health facilities, the elderly and other front line workers. 

Dr Tumusiime noted that much as the front liners in the district have embraced the vaccination, the uncertainty about the safety of the vaccine is still affecting the exercise.  

COVID-19 vaccination in Hoima is taking place at Hoima Regional Referral Hospital, Kigorobya Health Center IV, Bujumbura Health Center III, Buseruka Health Center III, Mparangasi Health Center III among others.
