FUFA Boosts Big League Clubs with UGX 26 Million Worth of Match Balls Ahead of 2026/27 Season Kickoff

KAMPALA, UGANDA — In a major boost to domestic football development, the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has officially handed over match balls valued at UGX 26 million to all clubs competing in the FUFA Big League.

The ceremonial handover took place ahead of the highly anticipated kickoff of the 2026/27 FUFA Big League season, underlining the federation's commitment to supporting second-tier clubs and elevating the technical standards of the game.

FUFA 2nd Vice President, Dr. Azah Taibu, presided over the event and personally presented a package of 20 official match balls to representatives from each participating club.

Speaking during the presentation, Dr. Taibu emphasized that the initiative aims to ease the logistical and financial burdens on clubs, ensuring they have the necessary equipment to prepare adequately for the grueling upcoming season.

The receiving club officials expressed their gratitude to FUFA for the timely intervention, noting that the high-quality match balls will significantly improve their training sessions and match-day preparations as they fight for promotion to the top-flight Uganda Premier League.

The FUFA Big League is the second-highest division in the Ugandan Football League System, right below the top-tier Uganda Premier League. Managed by the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA), it serves as the ultimate battleground for clubs looking to secure promotion to elite-level Ugandan football.
