“From Coming Last in Class to Earning a First-Class Degree” Nelson Shares His Journey

My name is Nelson, and I come from Jinja, Uganda. For as long as I can remember, I have loved learning, but academics have never come easily to me. Even back in primary school, I often struggled to keep up with my classmates. When I joined university, I thought things would change, but instead, my performance worsened. I was frequently at the bottom of the class, failing exams and feeling discouraged. Each semester, I watched my friends move forward while I felt stuck, unable to follow lectures or remember what I studied. It was heartbreaking, and I began to question my abilities.
I tried everything I could to improve. I spent late nights reading textbooks, borrowed notes from friends, and even worked with private tutors. Yet, no matter how much effort I put in, I couldn’t get the results I wanted. My confidence collapsed, and it seemed like my dream of graduating with strong grades was slipping away. At one point, I even thought about dropping out because I felt I simply wasn’t good enough. In those moments, I prayed for guidance, holding on to hope that something would eventually change.TO READ MORE, TAP HERE
