Woman Shares Heartbreaking Experience of Abusive Marriage: "I Thought He Was an Angel, But He Turned Into a Demon"

Monica, a 33-year-old woman from Nairobi’s Buruburu area, opened up about the painful reality she faced after marrying what she believed was the perfect man. She initially thought her husband was a kind, loving person, but within just a year of marriage, she discovered a darker side that shattered her hopes of a peaceful and successful relationship.

Her dream was to have a marriage like those she had seen around her—filled with love, happiness, and harmony. But what she encountered instead was far from what she had imagined. "He began to make my life unbearable. He cheated on me constantly, and whenever I confronted him, he would beat me badly. For him, violence seemed to be the solution to every problem in our marriage.
