Edrine Walujo, a City Oilers player, has been handed a five-year ban by the Federation of Uganda Basketball Associations.

The development comes after Walujo was alleged to have attempted to fix one of the FIBA 3×3 National League games.

The suspension was confirmed through a document signed by FUBA General Secretary, Hudson Ssegamwenge.

“Edrine Walujo has been suspended for five years in accordance with section 7.04 of the FUFA Competition Rules and Regulations 2024,” the statement partly reads.

Reports indicate that Walujo reached out to Benin’s National Team, asking them to lose a game in the FIBA 3×3 National League.

This led to his arrest before he was detained at Jinja Police Station. He was later released on police bond as investigations continue.

Walujo is therefore not allowed to participate in any of the FUBA sanctioned events as an athlete, fan, or administrator with any of the clubs affiliated with the Federation.
