Victoria University Vice Chancellor Prof. Lawrence Muganga honored with Prestigious Global Impact Award 2025.

The Vice Chancellor of Victoria University Kampala, Professor Lawrence Muganga, has won the Global Impact Award at the 2025 Excellence Awards held at the Meridian Arts Centre in Toronto, Canada recognized for his visionary and transforming leadership through innovation and impact to the community. 

His award is particularly attributed his educational reforms that integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI), Virtual Reality (VR), and skills-based learning into university education.

The Professors leadership while at Victoria univernity he has championed innovative learning by introducing AI-powered and skills driven learning models, work integrated programs that ensure every student gains real-world experience before graduation.

Prof Muganda said that the Global Impact Award is a celebration of Ugandan excellence on the world stage. He said that It signals to the international community that Uganda’s institutions can stand among global innovators shaping the future of education.

“This award is not just about me. It represents Africa’s rising voice in global innovation proof that Uganda can lead the world in redefining education that truly matters,” he aid

Prof. Muganga has authored books such as You Can’t Make Fish Climb Trees and Authentic University, which has stirred global conversations on dismantling outdated education systems and building institutions that truly nurture talent, creativity, and self-reliance.

The Victoria University family while congratulating described award as a “A victory for every student, educator, and Ugandan dreamer who believes in the power of knowledge to transform lives.”
