Top companies, brands and organizations have been recognized for their excellence, quality and impact to society while celebrating 13 years of the Visionaries of Uganda Awards. 

The glamorous award night held at Serena Hotel on 27th November 2025 recognized the winners with accolades by the Vice President of Uganda.

ISBAT University Uganda was among the award winners who were honored by the Vice President of Uganda as best visionary University in educational excellence

“We are proud to announce that ISBAT University has been honoured at the 13th Visionaries of Uganda Awards as the Best Visionary University in Educational Excellence of the Year — a recognition presented by the People of the Republic of Uganda” a statement from the university partly reads.

The University management said that the “award celebrates our unwavering commitment to innovation, quality education, and empowering the next generation of leaders and change makers”

They attributed the success to the contribution of the students, staff, alumni, partners, and the entire ISBAT community for being part remarkable journey.

Uganda boasts of a young and vibrant human resource, peace and security that continues to provide a condusive environment for business to thrive in the private sector led economy.

The theme for this years ceremony is: “Recognizing and Celebrating Visionary Leadership for Continued Sustainable Inclusive Social -economic transformation of Uganda”

The Vice President of Uganda Rt. Maj. Jesca Alupo, was flanked by ministers including Minister of State for Works, Minister of State for Karamoja, State mIninster for Lands, Ambassador of Egypt to Uganda among others.

The Visionaries of Uganda Awards has for the last 13 years been under the leadership of Mr. Job Mwesigwa recognizing impact of the difference companies and organizations.

He Vice President Jesca Alupo congratulated the award winning Visionaries for contributing to national growth and excelling in there selfless efforts in the difference sectors towards achieving Uganda’ vision and plan.

She highlighted government’s commitment in creating a an enabling environment for business and working with the private sector and launched the 2025 Visionaries of Uganda hand book.

“Government is committed to work with the private sector through public private partnerships and providing incentivesthat facilitate Uganda’s growth and fostering competition regionally and globally” she said

The Vice President said that the Visionaries awards over the years continue to inspire others to work hard and leave a legacy to be recognized and contribute to national development.

The Ambassador of Egypt to Uganda highlighted the growing bilateral cooperation between Uganda and Egypt through strong trade relations with huge investments in various companies including Egypt Air, Mantrac, among others contributing to the sustainable development and lives of Uganda.

He re-affirmed the Kampala Embassy’s commitment to support the business community in overcoming obstacle they face while reading with Egypt.

The Trade Mark Africa representative Ms. N. Ndagire said that they are facilitating trade and building a trade enabling environment through constructing one stop border points to support quick clearance processes which she said has reduce the time taken at the border points.

She said that Trade Marks Africa has also embarked on the construction of local market to places such as Amuru which registered challenges for vendors in the area.

“We have embarked on constructing Elegu Market in Amuru district areas which has been with challenges including floods and others aimed at supporting traders manage their chalenges and carry out there business in a better market” she said.

The Deputy Governor, Bank of Uganda, Prof. Augustus Nuwagaba represented by Phillip Andrew Wabulya while applauding the leadership of the Visionaries of Uganda Awards for organizing the 13th award ceremony, also commended the visionary companies for their role in promoting vision 2040, through private public partnership, and other strategies.

He said the central bank is contributing the the 4th pillars of the national plan to catalyst industrialization, manufacturing, strengthening services and agriculture modernization among other interventions.

He called upon other banking institutions to partner with the central bank to implement the planned intervention.

“The challenges include some financial institutions that are not participating in the programme to support the private sector. There is also illiteracy and lack of records by farmers” he said.

Some of the other Visionaries awards winners included: Best manufacturer of 2025 as Bidco Uganda Ltd, Maltiza International Uganda as the Best International Health support organization, Accurate Security, Bank of Uganda’s Agriculture Credit Facility, Tyre Express company, National Drug Authority, Pearl Bank, UGAFODE, among others.
