Ugandan Business Tycoon Bitature calls for enhanced development investment to boost domestic manufacturers as Simba Telecom signs more partners.
Chairman Simba Group, Dr Patrick Bitature has appealed to the government to encourage development investments so as to raise skillful Ugandans while boosting domestic manufacturing. He said this will create more affordable products in the Ugandan market, and create job opportunities, especially in the tech industry.
He mentioned this while launching a partnership between Simba Telecom and MiOne Chinese Tech Company that aims at unveiling new products manufactured in Uganda including Smartwatch phones, tablets, and accessories, among others.
During the launch ceremony at Simba Telecom headquarters on Kampala Road, Patrick Bitature, Chairman of Simba Group said more affordable products will be unveiled in Uganda and regional markets from Uganda.
“They are manufactured from the factory in Mbale and we are very happy to partner with our brothers from China who under MiOne have made huge investments in Uganda. The time has come when manufacturers will come to Uganda and make more phone accessories from Uganda,” he said
He said that there is a need o train youthful Ugandans on new technologies to benefit through trading in local products.
“Training Ugandans here and selling these phones in Uganda is a big important part and I am glad to be part of this process. We have so many young Ugandans who are trainable and quick to learn on the job” he said
Andy Chow, the MiOne General Manager said the variety of new MiOne phones & Black Arch TV products are meant to provide high-quality gadgets that are affordable & add to the diversity that Simba Telecom has to offer at the shops.
He said they intend to expand o other regional markets with quality products including Rwanda, Sudan, and DRC Congo among others.

Meanwhile, Simba Telecom, recently announced a strategic alliance with d.light, with a focus on tapping into the rapidly expanding solar energy sector of East Africa.
Under this agreement, Simba Telecom, will expand its product portfolio to include d.light’s high-quality solar-powered solutions, such as solar home systems, lanterns, and portable chargers, as it seeks to distribute solar products across Uganda.
Dr. Patrick Bitature said that Simba Telecom is committed to empowering people without access to reliable electricity with affordable, innovative products and services, and supporting the government’s efforts to power every house in the country.
These solar-powered products, which include solar home systems, solar lanterns, and portable solar chargers, will now be available at Simba Telecom Uganda’s retail stores nationwide, making them more accessible to customers throughout the country.
The partnership with d.light, a pioneering manufacturer of affordable and reliable solar products, is expected to help Simba Telecom achieve its goals of expanding its reach and deepening its offerings in the region’s fast-growing solar energy market.
