Gov’t urged to coordinate with private experts to share development ideas as Ambrosoli Think Tank celebrates 2024.

On 13th December 2024, The Ambrosoli Consults a private membership-owned think tank celebrated its achievements during the year 2024, at a glamourous event held at Sheraton Hotel Kampala.
The ceremony was graced by the Head of delegation of the Nigeria High Commission H.E. Amb. John Shama Shaga was flanked by the group's top leadership and members of the think tank, partners, and stakeholders of Uganda’s growth.
During the celebration to end the year, the think tank also appointed a new Board Chairperson of the team Dr. Daisy Owomugasho to champion the objectives of the think tank.

The Chief Guest Amb. John Shama Shaga while talking to the press at the sidelines of the event urged the think tank leadership to engage the government through members of parliament to scale up the activities of the think tank which he said should focus on identifying policy directions and make recommendations to contribute to Uganda’s society.
“Lobby, Members of parliaments, and government to scale up the think tank as an agency in Uganda that identifies policy directions to make recommendations in that regard’ he said.
The Ambassador said that, unlike Ambrosoli which is a private think tank, he said in his home country Nigeria, the government has its own think tank that has a direct impact on Nigeria's growth with links to international affairs, research, training, conferences, and international relations among others.
The Managing Director Ambrosoli Consults, Mr. Ambrose Byamugisha, narrated the journey that the think tank has taken throughout the year including gathering every Wednesday at Serena Hotel to discuss and share ideas on salient issues on Uganda’s growth.
“We have gathered here today to end the year, marking the end of our weekly gatherings for 2024. We discuss different issues impacting the community” he said

He urged the government to come up with a think tank comprising experts from different faculties to advise experts and discuss development ideas for the country while calling upon different experts to join the think tank to shape the future of Uganda.
“The government should start a think tank to advise other experts on the way to go forward. I call upon experts to join Ambrosoli think tank to share ideas of national prosperity to shape society and future of Uganda” he said.
Dr. Daisy Owomugasho was elected as Chairperson Board of Directors, leading an 8-member board for the non-political think tank.
She said that as Chairperson, she is committed to driving the aspirations of the think tank to greater heights as she starts her tenure into the new year and beyond.

She particularly pointed out her plans to bring diverse perspectives and experts to address the most pressing challenges in the areas of social justice, technological innovation, economic growth, inclusion, and impact among other issues with a vision to” Strive to create a platform that is accessible to all regardless of affiliation”
