On Friday 14th November 2025, several companies and organizations were awards for the role in championing digital excellence in various brands and services they continue to render to the society . 

The National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) won the digital champion in the Utilities and Government Services Digital Excellence Award at the 12th edition of the Digital Impact Awards Africa 2025.

The awards were presented at the Kampala Serena Hotel During the Digital and Financial Inclusion Summit, held at Serena hotel to discusses the future of digital and financial services across Africa under the theme “Maximizing the Digital Dividend.”

The award was attributed to NWSC’s consistent and impactful use of digital platforms to enhance customer service, streamline operations and drive inclusion across the country.

The NWSC’s digital channels have been praised for their convenience, efficiency and accessibility, allowing customers to skip physical queues, access the Digital Self Service Portal or the mobile app, and utilize 24/7 access to account information and bill payment history.

The systems also support multiple payment options, including mobile money and mobile banking apps, and the shift to e-bills has enhanced transparency in billing practices.

John Fisher Sekabira, Manager of Marketing and Digital Communications, was also recognized, winning the Public Sector Digital Communications Champion of the Year award for his efforts in digital outreach.

Standard Chartered bank scooped two awards in the categories of Digital Banking Excellence (Diamond) & CEO of the Year – DFS (Gold) with CEO, S. Rughani and Cynthia Mpanga awarded with the Digital Corporate Affairs Visionary of the Decade.

Jude Color Solutions was awarded the Diamond Award for Consumer Goods & Services Digital Excellence.

MTN Uganda and Momo Uganda won four awards, including: Financial Services Digital Excellence, Technology Services Digital Excellence, CEO of the Year (DFS) – Richard Yego, and Digital Brand of the Year.

Joseph Kimbowa the content manager said that the award are recognizing real changes in the society with visible transformation in people’s live.

The Digital impact awards Africa celebrates organizations that are spearheading the use of digital mediums to better serve their communities, including the under banked and under served population.
