TO BE PUNISHED!! Famous Chimpanzee Slapping Passengers on Motorcycle in Mubende Nabbed by Authorities

A chimpanzee that caused widespread alarm after appearing in a viral video slapping passengers on a motorcycle in Mubende has been captured. The shocking video drew attention from social media users across Uganda, with many expressing concern for the safety of residents in the area.

According to officials from the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA), the chimpanzee belonged to a small forest in Kyampisi. It had been roaming near human settlements, which likely led to the unexpected and aggressive encounter captured on video.

The viral video, which circulated widely, showed the chimpanzee approaching the motorcycle and slapping the passengers, causing fear and panic. Many viewers were shocked at the animal’s boldness and unusual interaction with humans.

UWA authorities responded quickly to reports from local residents and immediately set out to track and capture the chimpanzee. The swift action ensured that the animal did not harm anyone else in the surrounding communities.

After a careful operation, the chimpanzee was successfully captured. The authorities emphasized that capturing wild animals in human-populated areas is essential for both public safety and the welfare of the animal.

Once captured, the chimpanzee was relocated to the Uganda Wildlife Education Centre (UWEC). The centre provides a safe environment for wildlife while educating the public about Uganda’s rich biodiversity and the importance of coexisting safely with wild animals.

The UWA reminded the public that chimpanzees are strong and unpredictable wild animals. While they may appear playful, they can cause serious injuries if they feel threatened or cornered. Public education and awareness are key to preventing such encounters.

Local residents expressed relief following the capture. Many shared that the viral video had caused fear, especially for motorcyclists and pedestrians who travel through the area regularly.

Authorities also highlighted the need to protect the chimpanzee’s natural habitat. Encroachment into forests and deforestation often force wild animals closer to human settlements, leading to dangerous encounters like the one in Mubende.

Finally, the UWA assured the public that the chimpanzee is now in safe hands at UWEC, where it will receive care and rehabilitation. The agency continues to monitor wildlife-human interactions to ensure the safety of both communities and animals across Uganda.
