SC Villa wary of Busoga threat

  • Busoga United vs SC Villa – Fufa Technical Centre, Njeru 4pm

SC Villa could trim the gap at the top to just two points if they overcome Busoga United on Thursday.

The Jogoos make the trip to Fufa Technical Centre, Njeru in fine form but are wary of the threat posed by their hosts who are fighting the relegation monster.

Reagan Mpande who made a cameo appearance in the 2-1 win over Mbarara City knows what to expect.

“The team is in good shape, and everyone is prepared to go all out tomorrow,” he told the club website.

“Busoga United is not an easy team, especially when it’s at their home, but we are not deterred. We will put the coaches’ instructions into use to ensure we get maximum points.”

Villa go into the game without midfield enforcer Hamis Diego Ssemugera and Gavin Kizito who are suspended but have enough in their armory to cause Busoga problems.

For Busoga who are 14th with 17 points lost their last outing 4-1 to KCCA but will hope to show grit against the sixteen-time league winners if they are to keep their survival hopes alive.

Hot Stat: SC Villa are unbeaten away from home this season and overall, unbeaten in the last eight league games since a 2-1 defeat to KCCA.
