Dr. Sudhir Ruparelia through the Ruparelia Foundation made a heartfelt donation of hospital beds and equipment to the Children’s Hospital in Kabatooro, Lake Katwe, Kasese District — a community that holds deep personal significance as the birthplace of the billionaire businessman.

This act of giving is part of the Foundation’s long-standing commitment to improving healthcare access and uplifting vulnerable communities across Uganda.

Through its programs, the Foundation has supported schools, hospitals, and orphanages, provided scholarships, equipped health facilities, funded environmental initiatives, and empowered women and young people with practical skills for self-reliance.

Dr. Sudhir, the donation was his way of giving back to the community that shaped his early life.

“I owe a lot to the place that raised me. Supporting healthcare in Katwe is both a duty and a privilege,” he said in a statement shared by the Ruparelia Foundation.

Officials at the hospital praised the foundation’s contribution, noting that the new beds will go a long way in improving patient comfort and treatment efficiency, especially in the children’s ward. “We are deeply grateful to Dr. Sudhir for remembering where he came from. These beds will help us admit and care for more children,” said one hospital representative.

Over the years, the Ruparelia Foundation has been a consistent force for good — investing in education, healthcare, sports, arts and culture, religion, wildlife conservation, agricultural research, and youth empowerment.
