A total of 700 people both locals and refugees from Sudan have benefited from a free medical camp courtesy of the Sudanese doctors for peace and development [SDPD] in partnership with the Pakistan healthcare hospital foundation Uganda.

The day-long camp took place over the weekend at the Pakistan healthcare hospital Ntinda which was the 3rd medical camp for Sudanese refugees resident in Uganda.

The development stems from a joint memorandum of understanding [MoU] between the SDPD and the hospital board which focuses at offering free specialist medical services to the Sudanese refugee community living in Uganda as well as benefiting the local communities of Uganda.

The SDPD chairman Nagi M.Magzoub told this website during an exclusive interview on the sidelines of the camp that they appreciate the humanitarian cooperation they have with the Pakistan healthcare hospital whose medical facility they use to offer medical services ranging from free consultations, lab tests and treatment to both the Sudanese refugees and local citizens of Uganda.

‘ Our aim and focus is to continue extending free medical services to our Sudanese refugees resident in Uganda numbering over 82,000 who encounter numerous social, economic and medical challenges among the communities they stay.

‘We strongly appreciate the cordial bilateral and humanitarian cooperation extended to us by our brothers from the Pakistan healthcare hospital foundation Uganda’ noted Nagi.

He urged the Ugandan citizens faced with medical challenges to visit the Pakistan healthcare hospital foundation for high quality medical services at affordable prices.

Both the chairman Pakistan healthcare foundation Zaffar Mahmood and his director of the Pakistan healthcare hospital foundation Sarfraz Ali said this vital initiative is dedicated to providing comprehensive healthcare services, including free consultations, medicines, and laboratory tests, with the goal of serving approximately 700 patients on this day.

‘Our camp features a distinguished team of 11 medical specialists across various disciplines, including Ophthalmology, Dentistry, Ear Nose and Throat [ENT], and Cardiology who have traveled from the U.K., Ireland, and Canada, ensuring the provision of high-quality, comprehensive medical care services.

They appreciated the cordial cooperation they enjoy with the government of Uganda in general and ministry of health in particular as well as the Sudanese doctors for peace and development whose joint memorandum of understanding has benefitted many lives.
