The Management of National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) Kampala Water has announced water supply interruptions that will be in effect from today at 8:00 pm through Friday, 14th March at 8:00 am, affecting some parts of Kampala and Wakiso.

In a statement issued on Thursday, March 13th, 2025, NWSC stated that the supply interruptions are mainly due to the planned UMEME upgrade works and routine maintenance at the Ggba power station.

“The Management of National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) Kampala Water regrets to inform its valued customers and the general public that there will be interruptions in water supply tonight from 8:00 pm to Friday 14th March, 2025 8 am. This is due to UMEME planned upgrade works and routine maintenance at the Ggaba Power station. The works are designed to improve power supply to the plant,” the statement reads in part.

The areas affected by the works include: Kampala CBD, Munyonyo, Buziga, Ggaba Road, Nsambya, Kansanga, Muyenga, Kololo, Bugolobi, Nakawa, Kyambogo, Jinja Road, Rubaga, Namirembe, Lubowa, Seguku, Mutundwe, Nansana, Matuga, Wakiso, Bulenga, Kyengera, Budo, Nabingo, Kawanda, Nabweru, Parts of Gayaza, Kanyanya, Mulago, Makerere, Kamwokya, Mawanda Road, Makindye, Najjanankumbi and the surrounding areas

NWSC advised customers to store enough water and use it sparingly as it takes time for the system to stabilize after a total plant shut down.
