NRM’s Fred Ruhindi nominated for Nakawa East, pledges accountability leadership

The Former Attorney General Fred Ruhindi has been officially nominated for Nakawa East Constituency under the National Resistance Movement ticket.

He has pledged to maintain a record of integrity and clean politics, seeking to reclaim the seat he once represented before it was sub divided.

While making his after his nomination, Ruhindi promised to serve with transparency and accountability if elected.

“I have always believed in clean politics. My record speaks for itself. I have never been associated with corruption, and I intend to keep it that way,” he said.

He will face stiff competition from NUP’s Deputy Spokesperson Alex Waiswa Mufumbiro, who was nominated in absentia, and Winifred Nakandi, formerly of NUP and now nominated as the Democratic Forum (DF) candidate.

Ruhindi, who served as Attorney General from 2015 to 2016 returns with a renewed effort to re-establish his political influence in Kampala.
