Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia:

On 29th October 2025, Nonda Coffee, a brand of Nonda Commodities Limited (Uganda),  launched Uganda’s first Single-Origin Coffee Café in Riyadh, marking a historic step in positioning Uganda’s coffee on the global premium stage.

This flagship café, located in the heart of Riyadh, is the first of 50 outlets planned across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia under the Value-at-Source Coffee Project — a transformative bilateral initiative jointly implemented by Nonda Commodities Limited (Uganda) and Ingaz International Holding Group (Saudi Arabia), with full support from the Government of Uganda.

A New Era of Uganda–Saudi Economic Partnership

Officiating the launch on behalf of His Excellency Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, President of the Republic of Uganda, the Vice President of Uganda commended the initiative as a landmark example of commercial and economic collaboration between Uganda and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

She emphasized that the Value-at-Source Coffee Project demonstrates Uganda’s strategic transition from exporting green beans to exporting value, identity, and finished products, in line with Uganda’s Vision 2040 and the country’s broader industrialization agenda.

The Vice President further noted that Nonda Coffee represents the spirit of “shared prosperity” — where Ugandan enterprise and Saudi investment converge to unlock new frontiers of trade, technology, and cultural exchange.

Saudi Arabia Reaffirms Its Support

Representing the Ministry of Investment of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,

Mr. Mohammed bin Abdulrazzaq Alohaly, Managing Director of Agriculture and Food Processing, commended the initiative and reaffirmed that the project is well supported by the Kingdom.

He highlighted that the Value-at-Source Coffee Project aligns strongly with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030, particularly in diversifying the economy, promoting sustainable agribusiness, and building strong global value chains with strategic African partners.

Mr. Alohaly described the launch as “a model of productive South–South cooperation” and expressed optimism that Uganda’s coffee excellence will find a strong, long-term market in the Kingdom and the wider Gulf region.

About the Value-at-Source Coffee Project

The Value-at-Source Coffee Project represents a USD 148 million joint investment between Uganda and Saudi Arabia. It establishes a dual industrial framework —

• the Luwero Coffee Park in Uganda for primary processing, roasting, and packaging, and

• the Jazan Coffee Terminal in Saudi Arabia for international distribution, certification, and re-export across the GCC and global markets.

Together, these investments will create a sustainable value chain that supports Ugandan farmers, enhances export revenues, and strengthens Uganda’s role in the global coffee economy.

A Symbol of Shared Prosperity

The launch of Nonda Coffee’s Riyadh café is more than a commercial opening — it is a symbol of partnership, culture, and opportunity between two nations united by a shared vision of economic transformation.

By serving Uganda’s finest specialty coffee in the Gulf, Nonda Coffee connects African excellence with Middle Eastern hospitality — celebrating the power of value addition, collaboration, and innovation.
