NACOBA mobilizes old boys to support modernize Namilyango college sports infrastructure

Mukono : Namilyango college is one of the oldest schools in the country founded in 1902 and is currently growing rapidly in terms of both streamling academics and infrastructure development.
They recently celebrated their college day festivities which were characterised by giving gifts to the best UACE and UCE students in appreciation of making the college proud.
The event was attended by the Popal Nuncio Emeritus Archbishop Augustine Kasujja who led mass while it was officiated by Buganda kingdom saaza chief of kyaggwe County Ssekibobo Vincent Matovu respectively.
The president Namilyango college old boys Association [NACOBA] Mr Cornelius Henry Mukiibi pledged to strengthen collaboration with stakeholders of the college to modernize their sports complex.
He told this website on Monday that in alignment with their strategic master plan, a deliberate strategy for promoting the sports profession in the college was underway.
He noted that his Association is mandated to mobilize resources to effectively support the college development agenda strategy through encouraging old boys to participate in scheduled income generating activities as give back.
We are determined to use our available resources to ensure that Namilyango regains its sports glory which can be done through identifying potential talents and training them ready for competitions
NACOBA wants to transform our vast piece of land designated for sports to construct state of art mega sports facilities that cover football, basketball badminton, rugby, chess table tennis,lawn tennis among others which development would turn the college into an international talent identification centre with capabilities of marketing Uganda as a new sports talent identification hub.
We call upon all stakeholders including cooperate companies, private organisations captained by OBs and individuals with the love of Namilyango to join our efforts by participating in the numerous income generating activities like the NGO sports gala among others, he observed.

interview highlighted that the college was in dare need of resources to power the several listed key projects like funding the peregrine Kibuuka Endowment fund which focuses at covering the school fees challenge for our bright but financially challenged students.
He thanked NACOBA for their resolve to mobilize old boys to respond to such calls by urging them to give back to the college which has contributed to their current status as high national citizens.
He appreciated both board of governors and Parents teachers Association [PTA] authorities for the support which had enabled them execute the listed priority projects which include the recent construction of the boys dormitory complex, walkways, installation of security cameras, fencing and sports grounds drainage system among others.
