“My Husband Was Very Mean With Money, But After I Tried This, He Now Gives Me His Full Salary Every Month” Sarah Narrates

My name is Sarah, and I live in Kampala, Uganda. For many years, I struggled with a challenge in my marriage that almost broke my heart. My husband, whom I deeply loved, was a good man in many ways but extremely mean when it came to money. Even though he earned a decent salary each month, he never supported me or our children as he should have. I had to carry the burden alone—paying school fees, buying food, and covering other household needs. Whenever I asked him for money, he always came up with excuses or claimed he was saving for the future. Yet, I later discovered he spent a lot on unnecessary things outside our home.

At first, I believed it was just a phase that would soon pass. I prayed, begged, and even tried to sit him down for serious discussions about our struggles, but nothing ever changed. As time went by, he grew more distant, and I began to feel like a single mother in my own marriage. My relatives noticed the pressure I was under, and some even advised me to walk away.
