Friday March 29th, 2024 – 4pm

  • Kitara vs BUL – Masindi Municipal stadium
  • Wakiso Giants vs NEC – Kabaka Kyabaggu stadium, Wakiso

Hussein Mbalangu is aware of what to expect when his NEC side make a short trip to Kabaka Kyabaggu stadium to face hosts Wakiso Giants.

The Bugolobi based side are in title contention by the look of the table with 37 points, six behind the table leaders Kitara and one adrift of second placed BUL.

On the contrary, Wakiso Giants are struggling against the relegation monster as they sit 11th on the 16-team table with 23 points, only six ahead of safety.

“They are a very good side with quality and a good a coach so we go there aware,” said Mbalangu.

“At home in the reverse fixture, they gave us a hard match and we must counter that and also focus if we are to leave with all points which is our main target,” he added.

The former SC Villa striker refused to be drawn into the title talk insisting that for them, it’s the game in front that is their trophy.

“For us, its always the next game and in this case, our trophy is the game against Wakiso Giants.”

If named in the team, Samson Kiirya, Gaddafi Wahab, Ibrahim Kiyemba and Geriga Atendele will face former pay masters Wakiso Giants.

The two sides played to a 1-1 draw in the reverse fixture that was dominated by the Purple Sharks at Lugogo.

Hot Stat: Wakiso Giants have won just three league games at home this season. However, all the three have happened in the last five games.
