Latest Tottenham transfer rumours: Gareth Bale and Sergio Reguilon deals to be finalised this week, Mourinho u-turn
Tottenham transfer news and rumours as Spurs edge closer to some big moves
Tottenham Hotspur's squad could look a whole lot stronger in the coming days if Jose Mourinho has his way.
Spurs are closing in on the signings of Real Madrid pair Gareth Bale and Sergio Reguilon which will make the rest of the top Premier League clubs sit up and take notice.
Mourinho has just over two weeks left to conclude deals in this summer's transfer window so the clock is ticking.
Here are some of the latest Spurs rumours and stories doing the rounds.
Bale inching closer to a return
Real Madrid attacker Gareth Bale is inching closer to a return to Tottenham.
The Wales international left Spurs in 2013 for the Spanish giants in a then world record £85m deal but he is now closing in on a return to the club.
His agent Jonathan Barnett told BBC Wales Sport: "Gareth is closer to leaving Madrid than at any time in the last seven years.
"We are still negotiating. We shall see how it goes."
It is unclear yet whether the move would be a loan or a permanent switch.
Reguilon finalising move
Real Madrid defender Sergio Reguilon is set to undergo a medical at Tottenham today (Thursday) ahead of a permanent switch to north London.
The 23-year-old is set to cost Spurs a fee in the region of £25m.
The Evening Standard report Reguilon arrived at Hotspur Way on Wednesday evening to finalise the move and it should be completed imminently.
All being well, Reguilon could be in line for his Spurs debut in Sunday's game with Southampton at St Mary's Stadium.
Madrid will have a buy-back clause in the deal which means they can land him for around £36m within two years.
ing linked with move
With moves for Gareth Bale and Reguilon getting closer by the day, Football Insider report a third signing could be on the cards.
The report says Jose Mourinho is after 'an orthodox striker who can lead the line and operate with his back to goal.'
That could come in the form of AFC Bournemouth forward Josh King.
The Norway international is keen on staying in the Premier League and following the Cherries' relegation, the south coast club are unlikely to stand in his way.
Mourinho makes u-turn over defender
Tottenham are prepared to let young defender Ryan Sessegnon leave the club on loan.
The 20-year-old had been tipped for a breakthrough season at the club but boss Jose Mourinho is instead allowing the former Fulham man to leave Spurs on a temporary basis, according to Football Insider.
The imminent arrivals of Gareth Bale and Sergio Reguilon, as well as current left-back Ben Davies, means the chances of Sessegnon playing on a regular basis this season are slim.
The report adds Sessegnon is the subject of 'strong interest' from clubs in the Premier League and across year who are looking to sign him on loan for 2020/21.
