KIU Western Campus’ NRM Students Leadership drums up support ahead of 2026 General Elections.
Ishaka: The student leadership of the Western campus of Kampala International University (KIU) as part of the initiatives to participate in political activities to solicit for support and voters for the National Resistance Movements (NRM) Party they subscribe to, held a powerful mobilization drive to demonstrate KIU’s NRM students leadership strong organizationak culture and youthful vibrancy.
The mobilization event held on the 15th of November 2025 at the KIU basketball grounds attracted a mammoth crowd of NRM’s enthusiastic student community eager to engage in national conversations and understand their role in shaping Uganda’s future.
The NRM Chairperson KIU Western Campus, Bavamuno Crifubick, who spearheaded the drive together with Guild President Clifton Lamtoo, highlights that the mobilisation reflects the unity and active involvement that continue to distinguish KIU Western Campus among Uganda’s top university environments.

Among other students leaders who participated in the drive included, Twesigye Edward (Treasurer), Ahereza Nickson (Ground Coordinator), and Ahereza Joshua (Chairman Organising Committee). The team delivered a well-planned and seamlessly executed programme that showcased the campus’s commitment to discipline, coordination, and constructive student engagement.
Speakers throughout the event inspired the gathering on NRM’s core principles of Patriotism, Pan-Africanism, Democracy, and Socio-Economic Transformation, encouraging students to embody these values in their daily academic and social experiences.
“KIU Western Campus remains a stronghold of youthful potential, ideological awareness, and leadership development. With its diverse student population drawn from across Uganda and beyond, the campus continues to play a meaningful role in debates on national unity, stability, and socio-economic advancement” said the NRM Chairperson KIU Western Campus, Bavamuno Crifubick.
The event also provided a platform to rally support for President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s 2026–2031 candidature, with student leaders calling for continuity and a steady path toward development.
The mobilisation received an additional boost from the Sauti Ya Vijana team from State House, whose participation strengthened efforts around civic education, youth empowerment, and engagement with national youth structures.
It should be noted that the collaboration with KIU’s NRM leaders further cemented the campus’s reputation as a hub where policy discussions, leadership growth, and national dialogue can thrive.
The campfire
The event climaxed with a Saturday evening campfire session that brought together student leaders and NRM youth for deeper reflection on leadership, ideology, and the responsibilities of the young generation.
The open atmosphere allowed participants to exchange ideas, receive guidance, and build stronger networks ahead of the 2026 national elections.
According the student leadership the mobilisation event of reaffirmes KIU Western Campus’s position as a centre of academic excellence and civic responsibility.
KIU is a leading Institution shaping Uganda’s next generation of thinkers and professionals.
The Western Campus students have consistently shown maturity and commitment when engaging in discussions about Uganda’s long-term progress.
