Kenya's Chief of Defense Forces Perishes in a Helicopter Crash

The highest ranking military officer of the republic of Kenya, Gen. Francis Ogolla  has deceased in an helicopter crash that Carried 11 people , Thursday afternoon, according to international news.

The incident happened in the remote western part of the country ,  Elgeyo Marakwet region, as announced by the fountain of honor, H.E. William Ruto during a television address 

According to Ruto, " the scene occurred shortly after the helicopter taking off, claiming lives of 9 other military fellows, Only 2 survived. I am deeply saddened to announce the passing on of General Francis Omondi Ogolla, the Chief of the Kenya Defence Forces,” he noted.

Ruto included, a team of investigators has been dispatched at the scenes to determine the genesis of the crash, because it is unclear about what fostered the crash.

The country has also declared three days of national mourning in respect of the fallen military chief.

Gen Ogolla joined Kenya’s military force 40 years ago, meaning he had a a military expertise of 40 years, he was a graduate of École Militaire de Paris in France, the National Defence College of Kenya, Egerton University and the University of Nairobi.He is survived by his wife Aileen, two children and a grandson.
