KCCA FC continued with their renaissance after picking a convincing win over relegation threatened Busoga United FC on Thursday at MTN-Omondi Stadium.
The Kasasiro Boys put up a stellar performance to obliterate visiting Busoga United with s 4-1 scoreline.
Saidi Mayanja netted twice while skipper Filbert Obenchan and Arafat Kizza Usama fresh from the 13th African Games scored a goal apiece.
Today’s result means KCCA FC have won the last four games in a row (three in the League and one in the Uganda Cup).
Obenchan set the tone for KCCA FC with a powerful header in the 18th minute thanks to Mayanja’s delivery from a corner kick.
Mayanja doubled the advantange for the hosts, finishing off a team goal with Etienne Katenga being the provider in this case.
Mayanja got his second on the day and KCCA’s third, five minutes after restart, tapping from close range after a perfect run from Usama on the right wing.
Usama too joined the scoring fiesta, netting the fourth goal for KCCA FC in the 56th minute.
Busoga United pulled one back through veteran defender Isaac Isinde capitalizing on a goal line melee to tap home.
The result lifts KCCA FC to seventh place on 32 points while Busoga United remain 14th and in the relegation zone with 17 points.
