Jackeline, a 34-year-old woman, got married to James right after finishing her secondary education as a way to ease the burden on her parents, who were struggling with poverty. She said she met her husband, they fell in love, and eventually tied the knot.

However, her husband was a very private and conservative person. He never shared all his family secrets. After five years of marriage, Jackeline discovered that her husband’s family practiced dark rituals, believing them to be a way to solve life’s problems.

“If someone got sick, they never took them to a hospital. Instead, they performed strange rituals that were frightening. They would slaughter animals and smear blood around the house while chanting words I could not understand.
