HEALTH: The commercial minister at the Egyptian Embassy in Uganda His Excellency Elkhagawa Alaa has hailed the government of Uganda for creating a conducive investment environment which has attracted many foreign companies to invest in the country thus contributing to the economic growth agenda of Uganda.

The envoy made the remarks 26th March 2026 while touring the Oxyplus services Ltd exhibition stall shortly after the official opening ceremony for the three day 5th edition of the Uganda pharma healthcare 2026 expo and healthcare conference running from [26th-28th] March at Lugogo based UMA multipurpose hall.

He commended the managing director of Oxyplus services Ltd Mr.Ramesh Halai for choosing to invest in Uganda saying the gesture boosts the Uganda’s buy Uganda Build Uganda [BUBU] policy which promotes locally manufactured goods and services that are appreciated by the citizens being of high quality.

He observed that the Egyptian government shall continue to work with the government of Uganda particularly encouraging more of their Egyptian investors to come to and invest here.

The high commissioner of India to Uganda HE Upender singh Rawat in his brief speech commended the president of Uganda for his open door policy of allowing investors to come and be part of the economic development agenda of Uganda saying it has led to creation of thousands of jobs across board,

He noted that India would continue to work for the boosting the bilateral cooperation with Uganda for the good of the people of the two sister countries.  

The Oxyplus services Ltd managing director Ramesh Halai on his part thanked the envoy for the courtesy of visiting their stall saying the gesture was cordial and promotes brotherhood among all the stakeholders in the health systems manufacturing sector. 

‘At Oxyplus Services Ltd. we are the leading provider of both industrial and medical gases and are committed to delivering high quality products and exceptional service to meet the customer needs across board’ observed Ramesh.

He told the envoy that they supply all types of firefighting equipment, including hoses, extinguishers, breathing apparatus, protective clothing, fire alarms and suppression systems to ensure safety and effective fire management.

Located opposite centenary Bank Kireka branch, he said they also have products such as liquid Nitrogen, food grade carbon dioxide dry ice among others all capable of producing high quality products for the public.

The expo has brought together over 100 global exhibitors drawn from 8 countries including India, China, Vietnam, Pakistan, United Arab Emirates [UAE].Kenya, Egypt and Uganda respectively.

The theme for the Expo is ‘Strengthening Access, Quality and Sustainability in Healthcare for All’ while the conference theme is ‘Access to quality and affordable Medicines for all’.

The high level engagement was opened by the director general of health services at the ministry of health Dr. Charles Olaro who represented his senior cabinet minister Dr. Ruth Acen.

He commended Mr.Digvijay Singh the Chief executive officer [CEO] of Exhibitions and Trade services India private Ltd, [ETSIPL] which is the lead organizer for the event for working closely with Ugandan stakeholder partners for bringing these critical services, products and information close to the public.

They include the ministry of health, Uganda manufacturers Association [UMA], Uganda Dental Association [UDA], Uganda healthcare federation [UHF], orthopedic society of Uganda, Uganda allied health professional council among others.
