My name is Margaret, and I come from Jinja, Uganda. In 2012, I was diagnosed with cancer, and my whole world was shattered. I will never forget the moment the doctors told me that I had only one year left to live. I cried endlessly, wondering what would happen to my children and my family. The pain in my body was unbearable, and the fear of death haunted me every single day. I felt as though my life had ended long before death could come.
I began treatment, but the constant hospital visits drained me emotionally, physically, and financially. I watched my savings disappear while my health continued to deteriorate. Sometimes I would collapse, sometimes I would vomit blood, and there were nights I thought I would not see the next morning.
