City Oilers secured a 73-53 victory against JT Jaguars in the National Basketball League at Lugogo Arena on Wednesday.
The final result of the game is not a true testament to what transpired on the day since the two sides were close until City Oilers rolled away in style.
Having held their nerves and heads throughout the three quarters, JT Jaguars lost it at the time it mattered most hence receiving a beating on the day.
Since falling to Namuwongo Blazers, the Oilers have secured four straight victories against KCCA Panthers, Kampala Rockets, Livingstone, and JT Jaguars.
Jimmy Enabu took matters into his own hands as Oilers created a four-point (13-9) lead at the end of the first period.
While JT Jaguars took the fight to the Oilers, Tonny Drileba’s three-point jump shot at the end of the second period stretched the lead to seven points (36-29) going into the long break.
Once again, Drileba’s long shot outside the paint concluded the third period as the Jaguars were trailing by six points.
However, the final period was an offensive onslaught as the Oilers put in a second gear to seal matters on the day thus sealing a 20-point victory.
City Oilers had three players scoring double digits led by Jimmy Enabu (17) while Drileba and Titus Lual dropped 11 points.
While for the Jaguars, only George Agasi (17) and Fadhili Chume (11) dropped a double digit.
