As part of a new student-centred Funding model and inline with East Africa Community guildline, fees for various programs were drastically harmonized through East African new and continuing students at Cavendish University Uganda (CUU)

“The implementing a flat fee structure for East African International Students, aligning with an EAC directive” partly reads the statement.

The move according to the university aims to ease the financial burden on families and increase access to higher education effective January 2026 as opening nears on 10th February.

Under this new policy, students from South Sudan, Somalia, Tanzania, Kenya, Rwanda, Burundi, and the DRC will pay tuition fees at the same rate as Ugandan Nationals.

A parent Marvin Isoke attached to Cavendish University said the policy benefits them, “Tuition fees are no longer higher for internationals, they are equalized with local Ugandan rates. This will favour all of us”

According to CUU, this change is designed to champion regional integration and make education more accessible to students within the East African community.
