Jasprit Bumrah has skidded up seven places to the 10th spot in the ICC Men's T20I Bowler Rankings. His contribution has been responsible for this rise and the reason behind it lies in his performances in the first two of his home team's series to India against the Afghanistan side which has left the visitors in a 2-0 series defeat. 

India's Bowlers Dominate the Latest Update

Bumrah wasn't the only Indian bowler to make some progress. Despite only getting on to the court for one match, after sustaining a side strain, Varun Chakaravarthy moved up two levels to fifth position and stays the top-ranked bowler for India. The biggest individual move came from Arshdeep Singh's and Axar Patel's performance with a strong overall effort with the ball.

Despite India's series win, Afghanistan had one standout mover of their own. All-rounder Azmatullah Omarzai made notable progress in the T20I all-rounder rankings after an excellent unbeaten half-century in the series opener, giving the hosts at least one individual point of pride from a series they were unable to win.

Four Indian Bowlers Now Inside the Top 30

With Chakaravarthy, Bumrah, Arshdeep and Axar Patel all featuring inside the top 30 of the latest bowling rankings, India now has one of the deepest and most in-form bowling units in T20I cricket. Combined with two batters occupying the top two spots on the batting list, the rankings update reflects just how one-sided the opening two matches of the Afghanistan series have been.
