Arsenal news and transfers live: Lacazette offer, Saka and Ramsdale selected, Asensio bid
Keep up to date with all the latest Arsenal news and views in our daily live transfer blog
Arsenal deservedly earned a fourth consecutive win in all competitions on Sunday as they beat their closest rivals Tottenham Hotspur 3-1 in the North London Derby at the Emirates Stadium.
Goals from Emile Smith Rowe, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Bukayo Saka secured the three points for Mikel Arteta's men and fans have understandably been celebrating since.
As the Gunners aren’t competing in Europe this season, Mikel Arteta’s side have to wait until the weekend to play their next competitive fixture, although that gives them an extra few days to prepare to play a Brighton side who’ve started the season in fine form. And as ever, there’s plenty happening behind the scenes too.
Unfortunately for the Gunners, they were dealt with a major blow on Wednesday as Granit Xhaka could miss up to three months with a serious knee injury. This, though, opens the door for others to come in and show what they can do, with Albert Sambi Lokonga likely to come straight back into the starting XI.
Stay tuned with our live blog for any team news or transfer updates ahead of Arsenal's trip to the south coast and we’ll be keeping you up to date with everything that’s going on at the club.
Henry and Wenger clash
Arsenal legend Thierry Henry says that a biennial World Cup could have a huge affect on the mental health of football players.
His former manager Arsene Wenger is the man leading the charge for a change to current four years but Henry is not convinced.
“Do you (FIFA) actually ask the current players what they think about it?” Henry said.
“I played four World Cups and (three) Euros and I came out of them shattered mentally. And it’s not about the games I played in it, it’s the preparation for the World Cup, coming back from the World Cup after a season at your club. So if you play that every two years, mentally it’s tough for a player.”
Ramsdale's initiation
Aaron Ramsdale has revealed that he rapped the Fresh Prince of Bel Air theme tune as part of his Arsenal initiation after signing in the summer.
The revelation came during a Reddit AMA, streamed on the Gunners Twitch account. Unfortunately no footage of the sing song has been made available.

Arsenal have offered striker Alexandre Lacazette to AC Milan, according to Calcio Mercato reporter Daniele Longo.
The Frenchman's contract expires in the summer and the Gunners may even let him leave during the upcoming January transfer window.
Arsenal told how to make top four
Paul Merson believes Mikel Arteta and Arsenal have what it takes to make the top four in the Premier League this season and has told the Spaniard how to do it.
"If Arsenal keep those players fit and they play every week, they would have a chance of getting in the top four and cause problems,” Merson wrote in his Sky Sports column
"They have no Europe this season, so will have time to recover and work on the team.

Asensio update
Mundo Deportivo have reported that Arsenal could be a possible destination for Marco Asensio whose future is up in the air following a mixed start to the season.
He has started just twice in a Los Blancos shirt so far this campaign but did score a hat-trick in a thumping 6-1 win over Real Mallorca last week.
Henry explains why Arsenal should make transfer
Arsenal icon Thierry Henry has explained to his former club why they should make a move for Manchester City attacker Bernardo Silva.
Silva has impressed for City this season and was key in their 1-0 win at Chelsea last weekend.
However, reports have been circulating surrounding his future after being linked with a move away from the club in the summer.
Former Gunners forward Henry has claimed they should try and sign him should he become available.
Aurier could make Arsenal switch
Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing right-back Serge Aurier just weeks after he was released by north London rivals Tottenham Hotspur.
Todofichajes have claimed that the free agent is on the radar of the Gunners and could sign anytime now, but they do face stiff competition from Real Madrid.
Mikel Arteta's men could do with some cover in that position after Hector Bellerin left to join Real Betis, but they do have Cedric and Callum Chambers who can fill in there.
Takehiro Tomayasu has played the last three matches since signing from Bologna and is making that area his own, which would possibly make an unlikely Aurier transfer all the more unlikely.
Gunners dealt Wirtz blow
Morning all and welcome along to our live blog - kicking off with some Florian Wirtz.
Arsenal have been dealt a potential blow of signing possible transfer target Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen.
The Daily Mail have claimed that Arsenal are interested in the German youngster who has been in excellent form so far this season.
But his father has spoken about Wirtz's future and confirmed that he is set to stay at his current club for the next couple of seasons.
He told Bild:
Florian definitely wants to play a good role in Leverkusen for the next two years. What comes next is not yet known. His focus now is only on Bayer and the national team."
