Aisha Group & Dongfang partnership to transform Uganda’s logistics sector

Dongfeng Uganda partnered with Aisha Group Limited on 24th July 2026 reached another milestone with the launch of a new range of heavy-duty commercial trucks and tippers aimed at transforming cross-border cargo transportation and the local logistics sector.

The collaboration a according to management marks a major shift for Aisha Group as it transitions from dealing primarily in used vehicles over the last 20 years to introducing brand-new commercial inventory.

Vehicle such as Tractor Heads, heavy duty trucks, double cabins have been tailored for logistics and cargo companies operating on major regional trade corridors like Mombasa–Kampala and Mombasa–Kigali, while type like Tipper or Mining Trucks are built for the construction and mining sectors, supporting heavy material transport for industrial projects in Uganda.

The CEO Aisha Group Mr. Hassan Kalair dur8gthe launch eremony said that the rollout aims to reduce pressure on Uganda's transport network, improve reliability, and provide better after-sales service and heavy-duty options for regional supply chains supporting Uganda push to transform its transport and logistics sector has while focusing on Buy Uganda Build Uganda- BUBU initiative to Uganda.

“This is a new chapter for aimed at promoting the automotive industry and services for agriculture, transport by prime movers introduced to Uganda. The launch matters a lot because it supports BUBU initiative, our target is to manufacture in Uganda. We will assemble vehicles in Jinja sub plant with the help of Dongfang. This investment will create employment, build networks in Uganda, and boost the economy” he said 

The Chief Guest at the ceremony 3rd Prime Minister Rukia Nakadama said that the introduction of new brands vehicles will build Uganda’s capacity and contribute to transforming of the economy through innovation.

She said the after sale services will boost the spare parts market growth, skills development, local partners, to solve the spare parts challenge. 

The partnership aims to streamline exports and imports logistics, expand transport infrastructure, and reduce costs for Ugandan traders and businesses, leveraging on Aisha Group’s local market expertise and distribution network with Dongfang’s global manufacturing and supply chain capabilities.
