On 17th January 2026, Uganda's Business Leader and philanthropist, Dr. Sudhir Ruparelia, marked his 70th birthday with the timeless, a journey that has a foot print on the contribution Ugandan businessmen continue to provide to the growth of the economy and tax collections from the various sectors he has ventured.

Sudhir’s journey began in the UK, where he amassed $25,000 before returning to Uganda in 1985. Initially a beer distributor, he pivoted to real estate, founding Meera Investments Ltd under the Ruparelia Group.

His portfolio, spanning hospitality, banking, education, and agriculture, includes iconic developments like Speke Resort Munyonyo, Kabira Country Club, Kingdom Kampala, the Pearl Business Tower, and One-10 Apartments in Kololo among others.

These projects have not only elevated Kampala’s architectural landscape but also expanded access to quality housing and commercial spaces, driving economic growth.

His vision continues to inspire innovative real estate solutions, positioning him as a cornerstone of the nation’s development. As Uganda grapples with its housing challenges, Sudhir’s legacy serves as a blueprint for public-private collaboration, offering hope for a more accessible and vibrant urban future.
