Victoria University Kampala Seals Strategic Media Partnership with Buganda Kingdom's BBS Terefayina

KAMPALA – Victoria University Kampala has signed a cooperation agreement with Buganda Kingdom-based broadcaster, BBS Terefayina Eyaffe, in a bid to advance communication of its activities to the public through the media.

The agreement was signed by Victoria University Vice Chancellor, Dr. Lawrence Muganga on behalf of the university, while Managing Director Eng. Patrick Sembajjo signed for BBS Terefayina.

The signing was witnessed by Compliance & Relations Manager, Ms. Ayebare and Co-operative Education Office Manager, Dr. Shamim K. Matov.

Under the partnership, BBS Terefayina will become a key media platform for amplifying Victoria University’s academic programs, research innovations, student success stories, community outreaches, and career guidance initiatives to its massive grassroots audience.

Dr. Muganga hailed the partnership as timely, noting that working with a trusted and kingdom-rooted broadcaster like BBS will deepen the university’s reach to every household. Eng. Sembajjo reaffirmed BBS TV’s commitment to professional and impactful storytelling of the university’s milestones.

VICTORIA UNIVERSITY KAMPALA

Victoria University Kampala (VUU) is one of Uganda’s fastest-growing private universities.  BBS TEREFAYINA EYAFE

BBS Terefayina is the official television station of the Buganda Kingdom. Launched on *12th April 2016* by His Majesty Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II at the Masengere Building in Mengo, Bulange Road, Kampala, the station broadcasts in Luganda on HDTV 1080i.

Owned 51% by Buganda Kingdom and 49% by private shareholders, BBS Terefayina is mandated to create informative, educative, entertaining and cultural content. Within one year of launch, it ranked among the top 5 most-watched stations in Uganda. It is available on Free-to-Air, StarTimes Channel 287, GOtv 97, and DStv. Known for its slogan “Tuwangula!” the station is the leading voice of Buganda Kingdom affairs, Lukiiko live broadcasts, news, sports and culture.
