Victoria University joins Pr. Bugembe’s 20-Year Music Concert, Students Inspired on Purpose.

On 16th July 2025, Victoria University has launched the “20 Years of Pastor Wilson Bugembe Music” mega concert.
The launch event, held at the university auditorium, drew an audience of over 1,000 newly admitted students for the July–August intake and left many moved by Bugembe’s deeply personal story of survival, faith, and triumph.
The main concert is scheduled for August 8, 2025, at the prestigious Kampala Serena Hotel, with tickets available via the MTN MoMo app for UGX 120,000 (early bird) and UGX 3 million per table.
Pr. Bugembe expressed heartfelt gratitude to Victoria University and MTN Uganda for being the first to sponsor his milestone concert.
“This is the very first time a university is backing my concert—and not just any university, but one that’s transforming lives,” Bugembe said. “How can I thank Prof. Muganga enough? He has taken in five children from my orphanage on full bursaries—I don’t pay a single coin. That’s a heart for God and for the future.”
Pastor Wilson Bugembe brought a soul-stirring message of faith and perseverance. Reflecting on his journey, he shared how prayer and scripture guided him through a childhood marked by loss. “I took God as my real father,” he said, recalling how singing and praying transformed his pain into purpose.
Quoting Psalm 23, he urged students, “You cannot live without a shepherd. A life guided by God is protected and purposeful.” His humor shone through as he recounted a vivid memory of a man kicking a cow until it nearly fell into a trench. “If a cow can rise with a shepherd’s guidance, how much more can you with God?” he asked, inspiring students to seek divine direction.
The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Lawrence Muganga welcomed new students with a powerful message centered on innovation, purpose, and social responsibility.
“We’re not here to fill your heads with notes and leave you empty-handed after graduation,” Muganga told students. “You study for only 15 hours a week—use the rest to build something meaningful, solve problems, and change lives.”
Prof. Muganga tasked students to look beyond traditional academics echoing sentiments from his recent speeches at the university’s innovation forums.
““You spend only 16 hours a week in class. The rest of your time use it to gain real world experience. I can’t teach you experience in a lecture hall, but I can guide you to opportunities.” He urged students to engage with the university’s Career and Employability Office (CEO), describing it as a transformative resource. “
