Victoria Pearls win thriller to level Capricorn Series in final game

Capricorn Series | Match 6 Summary
- Namibia W 139/4
- Uganda W 140/5
- Uganda won by 5 wickets
The Victoria Pearls were 68/4 in 10.2 and needed 72 runs from the final 58 balls. Rita Musamali (40) and Stephanie Nampiina (39) put on a rescue act, knocking on a match-winning partnership of 69.
In the series’ final game, Uganda won the toss and elected to bowl first. Namibia had won three games in a row to take a 3-2 lead in the six-match series.
Namibia continued their aggressive approach, led by the captain Sune Wittmann (21) and Kayleen Green (48) who piled on the runs. Yasmeen Khan (35) and Wilka Mwatile (21) added the bonus runs at the end to put on a commanding 139/4.

In the run chase, Esther Iloku (36) continued her good form in the series with a great knock at the top, but a loss of wickets derailed the chase. Rita Musamali and Stephanie Nampiina’s coming together wrestled the game back in favour of the visitors. Nampiina departed with three runs still required for the win, and Rita Musamali and Malisa Ariokot somehow managed to run the three runs to seal the win for Uganda.
The win levelled the series at 3-3 to conclude an entertaining series between the two sides. Uganda won the first two games before Namibia won three in a row, with Uganda coming from behind to level the series.

Esther Iloku has shown her worth at the top of the order while Nampiina has anchored the middle order. The young Irene Mutoni showed her class in the games she was given but the work will have to be on the fielding, where Uganda has been horrible throughout the series.
