UNABSEC, VCON Construction partnership to drive industry growth

The Uganda National Association of Building and Civil Engineering Contractors (UNABSEC) has reaffirmed its commitment to working with VCON Construction (U) Ltd, following a courtesy visit aimed at strengthening collaboration in Uganda’s construction and infrastructure sector.

The UNABSEC delegation, led by its President, Mrs. Kiara Binta Nkuranga, met with Ruparelia Group Chairman Dr. Sudhir Ruparelia and the General Manager of VCON Construction (U) Ltd, Mr. Prabhat Mishra.

According to UNABSEC, the meeting focused on reinforcing the association’s long-standing relationship with the Ruparelia Group while providing an opportunity to present UNABSEC’s mandate, ongoing programmes and priorities for the construction industry.

The discussions also explored areas of future collaboration intended to promote the growth of Uganda’s construction and infrastructure sector, with an emphasis on innovation, safety and sustainable development.

One of the key highlights of the meeting was VCON Construction (U) Ltd’s continued support for major industry activities scheduled for 2026.

UNABSEC expressed appreciation after the company confirmed its Silver Sponsorship of the 2nd Uganda Construction & Infrastructure Forum & Exhibition (UCIFE) 2026, as well as the Contractors’ Run 2026. Africans& Diaspora.

The delegation also extended its condolences to the Ruparelia Group and the VCON Construction family following the death of Rajiv Ruparelia, acknowledging his contribution to Uganda’s construction industry.

UNABSEC said his role in supporting the growth of the sector and advancing construction initiatives in the country would be remembered by industry stakeholders.

UNABSEC believes the upcoming forum and exhibition will bring together contractors, engineers, policymakers, investors and other stakeholders to discuss practical solutions for the country’s infrastructure development while showcasing new technologies and best industry practices.

UNABSEC expressed confidence that its strengthened relationship with the Ruparelia Group and VCON Construction will create more opportunities for cooperation in the years ahead, accelerating efforts to build a safer, more innovative and sustainable construction sector capable of supporting Uganda’s economic transformation.
