Heritage Times London is facilitating delegates for forthcoming inaugural East African Trade & Digital Transformation Summit is scheduled to take place in November 2026 in Kampala, Uganda, coordinated by Uganda's Ministry of East African Community Affairs.

Ruparelia Group Chairman Dr. Sudhir Ruparelia hosted the London based delegates as Uganda intensifies preparations for the Summit, a regional forum convenes government leaders, ministers, and private sector executives to align trade policy with digital integration.

The delegation led by Moses Selasia, met Dr. Ruparelia to discuss Uganda’s investment climate, private sector growth, regional trade opportunities and prospects for expanding international business partnerships, focused on Uganda’s evolving economic landscape and the role of the private sector in driving industrialization, innovation and digital transformation across East Africa.

Selasia described the engagement as productive and said Dr. Ruparelia’s entrepreneurial journey continues to attract interest from investors seeking opportunities in Africa.

“It was a pleasure meeting Dr. Sudhir Ruparelia, whose business achievements and contribution to economic development continue to inspire investors across the continent,” Selasia said.

The meeting with the Heritage Times delegation is expected to contribute to ongoing efforts to promote Uganda as a competitive destination for regional trade, investment and digital innovation ahead of the forthcoming summit.

The engagement comes at a time when Uganda is positioning itself as a regional destination for trade, technology and investment, with preparations underway for the East African Trade and Digital Transformation Summit expected to convene business leaders, innovators, development partners and government officials aimed shaping perceptions of Uganda’s investment environment, particularly as the country seeks to attract more foreign direct investment into technology, infrastructure and value-added industries.

Analysts say the summit could provide a platform for discussions on digital infrastructure, e-commerce, fintech, regional integration, cross-border investment and technology-driven economic growth, areas increasingly viewed as central to East Africa’s competitiveness.

The Ruparelia Group has investments spanning real estate, hospitality, education, insurance, agriculture, construction and media benefiting both government and Ugandans.
