With the StarTimes Uganda Premier League relegation fight now in its final 9-10 weeks, Bright Stars, Wakiso Giants, Gaddafi, Busoga United and UPDF all find themselves in danger of dropping into the Fufa Big League along with already-relegated Arua Hill.

The Kongolo’s short spell in the top tier came to an end following elimination by the Fufa licensing committee, but who else will join them in being demoted to the Fufa Big League?

Remaining Fixtures (8): Gaddafi (h), Villa (a), KCCA (h), UPDF (a), NEC (h), Maroons (a), Kitara (h), URA (a)

Joseph Mutyaba’s men have drawn the most matches in the division with 10 stalemates including the last four.

They have the quality to stay up but must ensure they win matches involving their fellow candidates in the drop zone starting with Gaddafi and later with UPDF.

Tough matches against KCCA, title fighting Villa and Kitara as well NEC and URA makes for a tough last eight matches.

The Purple Sharks have quality on paper to stay up but have been very inconsistent.

John Ayala’s men have picked valuable points against big boys – URA, KCCA and Express and on their day, they can beat anyone.

If the Jinja army side is to stay up, they have to get maximum points off fellow strugglers – Wakiso Giants, UPDF and Bright Stars otherwise, they have tough matches against title chasing Villa, BUL and Kitara.

Points: 17

Goal Difference: -19

Remaining fixtures (9): KCCA (a), Villa (h), Maroons (a), Wakiso Giants (h), URA (a), BUL (h), Kitara (a), Vipers (h), Express (a)

They have the toughest fixture amongst all the teams in the relegation mix up with games against title chasing Kitara, BUL, Villa and Vipers SC.

Besides Wakiso Giants, all their opponents are in the top half and it will be a miracle if they manage to beat this drop this season.

The army side have picked form at the right time with two wins from as many previous outings.
