“Thrown Out by My Mother-in-Law at Night Over Childlessness”
Just getting a child in one’s life, and especially when you are a married woman, is very important for respect. I am a young woman called Annett from Uasin Gishu, and I have had a rough time keeping my marriage, which has been characterized by constant fights just because I could not conceive a baby.
After a year, my mother-in-law called my husband and openly asked him why I was not pregnant, since she was eagerly waiting to become a grandmother. My husband calmed her down by telling her we were not yet ready to have a child, but she gave us a six-month ultimatum.
