Speke Resort Munyonyo Marks Environment Day 2026 with renewed commitment to conserve environment.

Speke Resort Munyonyo Uganda number on destination for MICE marked 2026 World Environment Day with initiatives aimed at renewing their commitment to sustainably conserve the environment through climate responsive operations. 

The 2026 World Environment Day theme, was “Inspired by Nature. For Climate. For Our Future,” while the Uganda’s theme was “A Call for Climate Action for All.”

The message was contained in a video posted on social media platforms to celebrate the day underscoring the importance of sustainable and responsible conservation of the environment while serving the customers with classic hospitality services.

“As we commemorate World Environment Day, we reflect on our continued commitment to environmental sustainability and conservation through responsible operations and conscious initiatives,” the statement partly reads

Some of the responsible operations at the resort were highlighted through the video that went viral showing shots of the venues with staff in at the service of the clients with others planting trees at the venues compound modern irrigation systems, guest rooms among others.

World Environment Day is celebrated annually on 5 June and encourages awareness and action for the protection of the environment. It is supported by many non-government organizations, businesses, government entities, and represents the primary United Nations outreach day supporting the environment.

Locally, the day is actively championed by the National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) Uganda, which coordinates campaigns, exhibitions, and community clean-up efforts.

The day’s celebration aims at raising awareness and inspiring action for the protection of our environment.

Established by the United Nations in 1972, it serves as the largest international platform for public environmental outreach, engaging millions of individuals and organizations worldwide.
