Parliament Committee commends On Truck Technical as Top performer in Electricity Distribution Services 

Kampala: The Parliamentary Public Accounts Committee [PAC] has commended *ON TRACK Technical* for outstanding performance, describing it as one of the best contract service providers in Uganda’s electricity distribution sector.

The recognition was made on Tuesday when the company’s directors appeared before PAC to present their operations and contribution to the country’s power distribution network.

The committee praised ON TRACK Technical for its professionalism, quality service delivery, and commitment to supporting reliable electricity distribution. PAC noted that the company’s performance has set a benchmark for other service providers in the sector.

Representing the firm were Director Bwengye Tadeo and Operations Manager Fredrick Tinka who outlined the company’s track record in supporting Uganda’s electricity distribution expansion through civil engineering, construction, energy and [maintenance/network services].

PAC emphasized that such high standards by local contractors are critical to achieving Uganda’s energy access and reliability goals.

The company’s first major electricity distribution assignment came in 2011 when then electricity distributor Umeme Limited contracted it to refurbish the Masaka Central–Mitala Maria distribution line at a cost of UGX1.1 billion.

Its largest assignment came through the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development’s Rural Electrification Agency (REA), where On Track Technical was contracted to construct electricity networks in several districts under the Community and Government cost-sharing model.

The UGX5.1 billion project was completed within 19 months, meeting the contractual timelines and avoiding cost overruns.
