On Tuesday 10th October 2023 Oktoberfest 2023 was launched at a glamorous event held at The Villa in Bukoto, Kampala.

The Drunch edition of the annual event according to organizers will hold the official festival on 28th October 2023 at Lugogo Cricket Oval in Kampala.

The launch was intended to act as an icebreaker where sponsors, organizers, media, and other event revelers mingled and held business-to-business networks while enjoying drinks and food.

Guests at the cocktail enjoyed drinks from Nile Breweries, food from Ranchers, and water and Soda from Crown Beverages.

The Sponsors according to Dennis Asiimwe The Brain Behind the Festival include Nile breweries, Crown Beverages, Brussels Airlines, Stanbic Bank, Galax FM RX Radio, and Google Tap among others.

Mr. Dennis said that with the background of food and drinks, the event has lined up activities including food and drinks and a list of over 8 artists including Chameleon, Cindy, Abeka Jazz Band, Kohen, Ras B Ssali among others, and food vendors.

“The event with a background of food, we are emphasizing the role food plays, The event is mainly organized by My Food Network with over 98,000 members. This year we have set it to be held at Lugogo Cricket Oval as the Drunch edition. Beer has been provided by Nile Breweries; The Beer tent provided by the Villa

Mr. Dennis added that in future they plan to host similar event in different parts of the country including Mabarara, Gulu, Jinja and others.

“Our long-term plan is to have the Oktoberfest outside Kampala” he said

The will be a  panel of judges led by the Uganda German Cultural Society to  judge the costumes worn by attendees at the event, with the winner receiving a free ticket to any European location courtesy of Brussels Airlines.
