Mengo senior School celebrates 125 years of academic Excellency

Mengo senior school has celebrated its 125 years of academic Excellency with stakeholders calling upon its old students to cultivate a culture of giving back to their schools for boosting infrastructure systems.
The call was over the weekend made by the school old students Association [MOSA] SACCO chairman Herbert Dan Sentumbwe while speaking to this website on the side-lines of the National re-union celebrations and expo marking 125 years of the existence of Mengo senior school.
Sentumbwe pointed out that it was incumbent upon former students to always ensure that they choose the path of giving back to their former schools as well as supporting all planned development programs and projects for the purpose of sustaining their legacy longevity efforts.
Kazibwe in his preaching message challenged the youth to embrace the love of God by ensuring that they do right things right first and avoid bad company which might corrupt their moral fibre.
During the sports gala climax session, a collective message of solidarity from friendly sister alumni school bodies led by the president of the Old Budonian club of Kings College Budo Farouk Sewankambo congratulated Mengo SS upon reaching this great day saying they would continue to fraternize with them for the common good of the academic family.
The delegation included his deputy president Susan Muheza, deputy secretary general Trinity College Nabbingo [TRICONA] Ruth Kyobutungi and the president Uganda Martyrs high school Namugongo Muzaale Carol among others who voiced their collective show of solidarity to the school with pledge to build strong Networks.
The school deputy head teacher KIconco Dorothy Barekye handed over the winner of 2024 sports gala awards trophy to Nsubuga house the overall champions followed closely by Armitage and Kennedy houses respectively as Sempa emerged fourth flowed by Luboyera and George emerged last.
