The Bishop of the Mamre International prayer Centre Namugongo Bishop Jacinto Kibuuka has challenged parents and stakeholders within respective communities to ensure that they protect children from immoral behavior which can have detrimental consequences for their future.
Kibuuka made the remarks yesterday while addtressing a mammoth crowd of christians that turned up for christmas mass at his church in Jjanda Namugongo Wakiso district.
He noted with concern that many youths largely among schools are increasingly getting exposed to harmful drugs, homosexuality, and pornographic material among others which can endanger their future education journey.
Quoting reports from the ministry of health which suggest that more young children aged between 12-24 are suffering from mental health medical challenges, he urged parents and all stakeholders among communities to take up the responsibility of ensuring that they prevail over the behavior of their children by sensitizing them about harmful acts which can be detrimental to both their life and health.
He regretted the death of some of his long standing colleagues in the church including Fr Byansi Vincent and Olivia Nabakooza among others saying may almighty God grant them eternal life in heaven.
He congratulated the citizens and government for working hard during the outgoing year saying they will need to redouble their efforts in working harder given the surging cost of living across board.
Kibuuka invited Christians to join them on the 31st December for the cross night celebration and ushering in the new year of our lord Jesus Christ.
Some of the Christians we interviewed shortly after mass told this website that people should use this festive season to forgive each other, seek repentance and promote a culture for loving one another.
The Christians pledged to support Kibuuka by raising funds to complete the ongoing projects of the church.
