It has been the norm for the Ugandan golfing fraternity to turn up at Entebbe Club towards the month end for the MTN monthly golf tee tournament.
That was the case on Saturday, 20th April 2024 as many golfers from the different walks of life.
A massive field as big as 100 golfers turned up for the day long championship played on medal format.
By close of business, Sean Kinsella won the overall gong with 64 nett.
Other top performers:
Paul Habyarimana won group A men with 65 nett, three shots ahead of Michael Tumusiime.
In group B men; David Batanda came top with 67 nett, two shots better than Charles Odere.
Ronald Gayiya scored 68 nett to win group men, one shot off Emmanuel Mugabi.
Ladies:
Rita Akot Apell won group A ladies with 72 nett. Jovia Tugume (74 nett) came as the runners up with a count-back score.
Ladies group B winner was Peace Hellen with 72 nett as Nice Janda scored 73 nett (count-back) for second position.
John Muchiri claimed the seniors’ cluster (55 years and above) with 72 nett (countback).
Among the guest players, Dean Kateeba was outstanding with 67 nett.
The special prize was won by Andrew Baguma who shot nearest to the pin on the par 3 hole 13.
Guests optimally utilized the platform and opportunity to mingle and network as they discussed issues off the normal work routine in a refreshing environment on a golf course that is aerated by the natural breeze off Lake Victoria.
The next monthly tee tournament will be held in May 2024.
