Several head teachers across the country have unanimously agreed to implement the new anti-bullying policy among their schools as directed by the minister of education and sports Janet Kataha Museveni.

During the official closing ceremony for the two day S1 selection exercise which took place at Lugogo UMA main hall last Friday, the minister who was represented by the junior sports minister peter Ogwang issued a stern warning to all head teachers  saying they would be personally  held accountable for any incident of student bullying among their schools.

And among the schools which openly came out to support and enforce  the decision were  Trinity College Nabbingo and Namilyango College whose head teachers separately confirmed that they would enforce the directive effectively without compromise.

The Head teacher Trinity College Nabbingo  Nassozi Immaculate Lwanga told this website that she was going to deploy secret scouts among the student community with a mandate to monitor and report any incident of bullying within their ranks.

‘We are going to ensure that the minister’s directive is effectively implemented and enforced by all stakeholders back at Nabbingo because bullying is criminal and it disturbs the victim’s mind who end up losing confidence among themselves’ noted Lwanga.

The headteacher Namilyango Mpuuga Constantine Sajjabi told this website at the sidelines of the event that they strongly condemn any acts of bullying among schools and the Namilyango community would do its best to ensure that no single student is exposed to the act.

‘At Namilyango we don’t take chances when it comes to the safety of our students across the board , especially  the newcomers who expect to enjoy a friendly learning environment as opposed to being exposed to bullying’ observed Mpuuga.

He pointed out that bullying allows the victims to suffer psychological distress which cannot be allowed in modern times.

He said they managed to grab 200 new boys who will be joining Namilyango for S1 2024 during the selection process
