My name is Margaret Nantume, and I hail from Luweero District in Uganda. If someone had told me five years ago that I would one day own one of the most elegant hotels in the region, I would have laughed in disbelief. At the time, I was just a humble tomato vendor, struggling daily at a roadside market to survive. I had no business background, no savings, and no clear path — only hope and an unbreakable determination to keep going.

For years, I rose before dawn to collect fresh tomatoes from farmers and sell them by the roadside. I stood for hours under the hot sun and pouring rain. The little I earned covered rent for my one-room home and basic food for my two children. Life was tough. My hands were always blistered, and my feet were worn and cracked from standing all day. Still, I persevered. I held on to my dreams, no matter how distant they seemed. My biggest hope was to one day own a small grocery shop. But God had a much greater plan for me.
